Canva is a popular design tool, and many people build their CV there. Whether the result passes an applicant tracking system does not depend on the tool's name; it depends on the design you choose and how the file is exported.
Design choices that can cause problems
- Text inside images, icons or graphic elements, which software cannot read as text.
- Many separate text boxes placed freely on the page, which can lose their reading order.
- Complex multi-column layouts with timelines, charts or skill bars.
- Important information (name, contact details) placed in decorative headers or shapes.
What tends to work well
- Simple, single-column or clean two-column templates.

Exporting
Export as a standard PDF and make sure the text stays selectable. If your file is a flattened image, no system can read it.

- Check that every section is present, in the right order, and nothing is missing.
If the pasted text looks right, the design is probably not your problem. If parts are missing or mixed up, simplify the layout.
